DESCRIPTION: For you lovers of Japanese Mingei (folk art, or literally “art of the people”), this large okimono will have special appeal. This likeable toad has been skillfully crafted with a rounded belly, bulging eyes, bumpy back and outstretched leg. When viewed, the realism is such that you almost expect him to turn his head and hop away. This handsome fellow dates from the Meiji Period (1868 – 1912) and is in excellent condition.
