DESCRIPTION: A fine Japanese shakudo (copper alloy) kozuka, c. 1600 – 1650, with a well patinated and fine nanako background (literally “fish roe”) of tiny dome-shaped dots. Excellent hand worked detail in the high relief gold overlay design, featuring a man in a cap gathering spring shoots of rushes he has cut with a sickle. Waki-Goto School, possibly Kaga, but unsigned; good quality and condition. DIMENSIONS: 4” long (10 cm).   Price: $995   Stock #BB95
