| DESCRIPTION: An archaic Chinese bronze daigou or garment hook, the front face with a fluted, tapering top over a horned goat head mask in relief, terminating in a tapering hook. The reverse face has a projecting stud or knob for attachment through a slit in the belt or garment. Garment hooks of this shape are well known from the Eastern Zhou dynasty onward. Some are found in precious materials such as jade or gold, or in bronze and iron with jade, gold, or silver inlay.
