| DESCRIPTION: A very fine Japanese ikebana basket with horizontal weave in classic ovid form. Smoked, split bamboo has been used on the body of the basket, with the lower waist area interlaced with larger bamboo for a lovely contrast in color and weave pattern. The rim and looping handle are wrapped in woven rattan. Excellent condition with no breaks, C. 1900. Unsigned; former collector’s sticker on base.
