NOTE: Ancient East specializes in pre-1945 Asian art and antiques (corresponding to the end of WWII, the Republic of China period, and Japan's Showa Period). While we support the goal of eliminating the on-going criminal poaching of endangered animals, some antique works of art are composed of ivory or other endangered species. Because we support conservation efforts of live populations, we only feature works of art crafted from these species that are genuine antiques. We believe these antique works of art should also be preserved, and have much to offer on behalf of artistic, historical and cultural appreciation. Prospective purchasers are advised that a number of countries prohibit the importation of items containing endangered species products. We at Ancient East follow all current laws relevant to their sale, import and export.
