DESCRIPTION:  A finely carved and flamboyant Chinese ivory carving of a woman in flowing robes holding a large bouquet of flowers.  The motion expressed in this carving is excellent, as if a strong breeze is blowing her garments & sashes in the wind.  In her finely coiffed hair she wears a bird ornament.  Dating from the first half of the 20th C. (1900 – 1950), this remarkable carving is in excellent condition; we can find no breaks, chips or repairs anywhere.  Mounted on stand with inlaid silver wire.  DIMENSIONS: Ivory carving is 7.5” high (19 cm); including stand is 9” high (23 cm); 4 3/8” wide (11 cm).<div id='rater_target1129334'></div>
