DESCRIPTION: A large, brown-glazed earthenware storage jar with raised and incised slip decorations in yellow ochre of confronting dragons chasing the flaming pearl.  Originating from the coastal area of East China (Zhejiang Province), these jars would have been used to store a variety of items and were shipped from port to port throughout Asia.  Today they make beautiful garden or terrace accents. Excellent condition with no cracks, and dating from about 1930, Republic era.
