| DESCRIPTION: A Chinese bamboo figure, well carved as a recumbent lion with a hollow pierced ball held between its front paws and a pup clambering down from its back. The gifted carver gave this lion a broad toothy grin, giant eyes, and tight curls on its mane and tail. An appealing sculpture in excellent condition, it dates from the early 1900’s, late Qing Dynasty. DIMENSIONS: 5 ½” long (14 cm) x 3 ½” high (9 cm).
