DESCRIPTION: A nicely carved pair of bamboo wall plaques, each with a depiction of Sao-Ts’ing Niang, the goddess of the clouds and end of drought. Here she stands amongst the clouds with a flower basket from which tumbles flowers and fruit to the earth. Each has an iron hanger and are in very good condition with minor scuffs; these probably date from the early 20th C. DIMENSIONS: Each is 29 ¼” long (74.3 cm) not including hanger x 6” wide (15.2 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A large porcelain vase dating from the latter Qing Dynasty (c. 1850 – 1910), the design rendered in an interesting “I Ching” motif. You might say this vase is a “message on a bottle,” as we see a pair of pheasants within a flowering tree, perched upon sheets that have fallen from the “Book of Changes,” known as the “I Ching.” Around the shoulders of the vase is a colorful band in a brocade pattern.
