Japanese Kutani Porcelain Figures of Lucky Gods, 19th C PCCP1DESCRIPTION: An appealing Kutani porcelain depiction of two Japanese Lucky Gods, Diakoku and Ebisu, singing and dancing in brightly colored court robes. Often paired together as the two favorite gods of prosperity, Diakoku, holds his mallet and Ebisu beats his drum, both with animated facial expressions. Dating from the 19th C. Signed Japanese Ivory Ojime, Lucky Gods LVIVR3DESCRIPTION: A signed Japanese ojime, crafted from natural marine ivory and featuring depictions of two of the seven Japanese lucky gods, Diakoku and Ebisu. The ojime was traditionally used in Japan as a slide in conjunction with an inro to hold the cord tightly above the inro, keeping it closed. Now threaded on a long cord, it dates from the late Edo to early Meiji periods.

Chinese Brass Hand Warmer, Qing LVBB3DESCRIPTION: This brass warmer, the perfect size for warming hands, would have been filled with coals and used in winter. The bulbous body held the hot coals while the heat flowed through the well crafted, pierced lid which features a bird among prunus branches. The sturdy brass handle allowed the warmer to be carried from room to room.
