DESCRIPTION: A charming ivory carving of three pumpkin-shaped imps having a tug-of-war over a pumpkin blossom. Two imps hold tightly onto a rope while tugging against each other; a smaller imp holds a fan in his left hand while bracing another imp with his right. This carving has so much excellent detail such as the holes in the blossom, two whisks, wonderful facial expressions and a detailed carved bottom with signature. The top is pierced and carved with scrolling vines; the frames beneath hold intricately pieced and interwoven fret patterns to form the screen. The center sections each have well carved scenes of scholars and attendants in garden settings; the lower panels remain simple with beveled edges. DESCRIPTION: An attractive rice (or dry goods) storage barrel with a lacquered red ground containing four black cartouches hand painted with gold flowers and precious objects. This lidded pine barrel, c. 1900 Qing Dynasty, originated from Anhui Province and is in very good condition. Such barrels make quite attractive accessories for the home or office. DIMENSIONS: 16” high (40.5 cm) x 12” diameter (30.5 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese ivory carving of two lovely maidens, one holding a musical instrument protected in a cloth bag, the other leaning on a rock wall with a bird ornament in her hair. Very good condition, no repairs or losses. The age is seen from the darker back side which has had less light exposure; dating from latter Qing Dynasty, 1890 - 1910. DIMENSIONS: 8” high including rectangular stand; 6 ¾” high without stand. Stand is 5” long (12.7 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A pretty little repossee’ silver Chinese export box on short paw-feet legs with a large pink quartz carving inset into the top, carved in the form of a peach and a pomegranate. The inside has been gold washed and the base bears a stamp “Made in China, Silver.” The perfect size for holding a favorite ring or earrings, the box is in good condition with wear to the white overlay on the horizontal band; first quarter of the 20th C. DIMENSIONS: 2” long (5 cm) x 1 ¼” high (3.2 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A small ivory brush pot crafted from ancient mammoth ivory in the form of a bamboo culm, one side carved with scholars under a tree. 20th C. DIMENSIONS: 4 ¼” high (10.8 cm) x 2 ½” diameter (6.4 sm).
