DESCRIPTION: A large Japanese bronze brazier (or censer) of round globular form with pierced fitted cover, Meiji Period c. 1868-1912. The domed pierced lid forms a diaper pattern and dragon-form handles are mounted on the sides, wrapped with leather strips. An attractive golden color, it is signed on its base by the maker. DESCRIPTION: A spectacular Japanese box, beautifully lacquered with gold scrolling vines, delicate leaves and a repeating circular mon (family crest) against a black lacquer ground. This striking box is secured with hand etched brass fittings on the corners and matching rectangular handles on each end. DESCRIPTION: A quite handsome Japanese hibachi, crafted from a section of Kiri wood (paulownia) with a lobed, rounded body shaped somewhat like a pumpkin. Inside is the original copper liner where coals would be placed for heating or keeping a tea pot warm.
