DESCRIPTION: A tall Japanese Satsuma vase with rounded shoulders and wide mouth featuring officials and dignitaries in elaborate brocade robes with boy attendants. The faces are finely painted and there is a good bit of raised gilt decoration. Dating to the mid to early 20th C., the vase is unsigned with slight rubbing to the silver gilt around the rim, but otherwise excellent condition. DIMENSIONS: 12 ½” high (31.7 cm) x 6 ½” wide (16.5 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A very fine hand painted Satsuma tea set, complete with teapot, sugar and creamer, all with original knobbed lids. The bodies have a very pleasing, plump ovoid form and the hand painting is exquisitely detailed with gilt and colorful enamels in a wisteria motif. The purple and orange wisteria spill from the lids to the bodies of the serving pieces in a continuous motif. DESCRIPTION: Important pair of Japanese Imari Chargers, circa 1880. Recently acquired from Brussels, Belgium, this pair is profusely painted in under glazed blue, iron-red, green and gilt with a central blue medallion of scrolls heightened in gilt. Surrounding on the sides is a wide border of alternating cartouches enclosing pairs of birds with bamboo leaves, and flowers issuing from rockwork with butterfly. What a fantastic find! A large set of 22 Imari bowls/dishes/plates, of slightly varying but very similar patterns. It is so rare to find such a large matching set of Imari!
