Carved Chinese Ivory Snuff Bottle SB115DESCRIPTION: A carved ivory snuff bottle in the form of a caparisoned elephant, the ornamented saddles side banners each bearing the image of Buddha. The bottle rests on a raised foot, and is complete with its original ivory cap. One side of the bottle is lighter in color than the other, usually caused by one side receiving more light over many years. The base is supported by a raised foot, and the ivory cap is original to the bottle. Excellent condition, C. 1900 1920 (late Qing, Early Republic). Lovely Chinese Inside Painted Glass Snuff Bottle SB95DESCRIPTION: A Chinese glass snuff bottle in flattened rectangular form with sloping shoulders, delicately painted from the inside on both sides with young maidens in flowing robes. Both are shown standing under trees in a garden setting with a Chinese inscription to their left on each side. Judging from their poses and dress, I would estimate this bottle to be first half of the 20th C., 1900 1945. Excellent condition with celadon colored jade top.
