DESCRIPTION: A carved agate snuff bottle in ovoid form, the stone of a very light celadon color with burnt orange inclusions which have been cleverly worked into the design. A crowing rooster is carved in high relief on one side, and as the bottle is turned we see the russet inclusion appear as the “rising sun,” tinting the morning clouds around it – very ingenious! DESCRIPTION: A carved ivory snuff bottle in the form of a caparisoned elephant, the ornamented saddle’s side banners each bearing the image of Buddha. The bottle rests on a raised foot, and is complete with its original ivory cap. One side of the bottle is lighter in color than the other, usually caused by one side receiving more light over many years. Republic Period (1911 – 1949), and in very good condition with no chips or cracks. DIMENSIONS: 2 ½” high (6.5 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A handsome carved agate snuff bottle, the stone of a light tan color with lighter inclusions on one shoulder, the front face carved in high relief with a crane wading among the lotus. Well hollowed and in excellent condition with an ebony stone cap; late Qing, c. 1900 (1880 – 1920). DIMENSIONS: 2 ½” high (6.4 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese snuff bottle of vibrant, transparent sapphire-blue glass in flattened rectangular form with rounded shoulders and footed base. Excellent condition with a double-beaded cap; early to mid 19th C., Qing Dynasty. DIMENSIONS: 2 7/8” high (7.3 cm).

Several naturally occurring dark inclusions have been cleverly worked into the design. The bottle is nicely hollowed inside and it is capped with a bright green jadeite stopper.
