Carved Agate Chinese Snuff Bottle SB107DESCRIPTION: A carved agate snuff bottle in ovoid form, the stone of a very light celadon color with burnt orange inclusions which have been cleverly worked into the design. A crowing rooster is carved in high relief on one side, and as the bottle is turned we see the russet inclusion appear as the “rising sun,” tinting the morning clouds around it – very ingenious! Carved Chinese Ivory Snuff Bottle SB115DESCRIPTION: A carved ivory snuff bottle in the form of a caparisoned elephant, the ornamented saddle’s side banners each bearing the image of Buddha. The bottle rests on a raised foot, and is complete with its original ivory cap. One side of the bottle is lighter in color than the other, usually caused by one side receiving more light over many years. Chinese Celadon Jade Snuff Bottle, 19th C. SAO66DESCRIPTION: A celadon jade snuff bottle in ovoid form, carved on one side with a clump of bamboo, the other with water lotus. Several naturally occurring dark inclusions have been cleverly worked into the design. The bottle is nicely hollowed inside and it is capped with a bright green jadeite stopper.
