Chinese Shou Shan Stone Seal, Qing LLSCH1DESCRIPTION: A Chinese shou shan stone (soap stone) seal, the knob carved with a figure of a monkey curled and crouched on a high rectangular base, the base inscribed with various scenes. On the front facing side is a seated man gazing at a circle with a two character inscription. The bottom of the seal is not carved. Very good condition, 19th C. Chinese Huanghuali & Zitan Scholar’s Box, Early 19th C. SCH371DESCRIPTION: A rectangular Huanghuali scholar’s box, the sliding lid decorated with a raised zitan appliqué of a leafy, flowering prunus tree limb. Such a box would have been used to store various calligraphy tools that the Chinese scholar might use. Fine Chinese Shou Shan Stone Dragon Seal SCH103DESCRIPTION: An outstanding carved Chinese soapstone seal in tall rectangular form, with a large winged dragon and smaller chilong (immature dragon) forming the knob. The large dragon holds the flaming peal near his mouth while the chilong clambers on his back. One side of the rectangular base is engraved with a two line Chinese inscription.
