DESCRIPTION: A rare Chinese toggle in the form of a miniature Mongolian eating set or trousse, consisting of a reddish gold lacquered metal sheath finished with brass bands and bone cap, containing two removable and useable knives with horn handles and bone caps, a set of tweezers, and a suspension loop on the side. Overall fine condition with minor signs of age, rust and use, Qing dynasty, 18th C. DIMENSIONS: 3 3/4” Long (9.5 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese export cinnabar box dating from 1900 – 1920 with a nicely carved scene of scholars and a maiden in a garden setting with rock outcroppings. The interior is covered with black lacquer and the age can be seen in the crazing. On the bottom the word “CHINA” has been hand etched into the surface. There are chips or cracks on several corners; otherwise in good overall condition. DIMENSIONS: 5 5/8” long (14.3 cm) x 3 Ύ” wide (9.5 cm) x 1 Ύ” high (4.5 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A captivating pair of lacquered figural candle pricks, each in the form of a smiling attendant with hand on hip, wearing a banded hat and holding aloft a candle dish. The figures themselves are hand crafted of solid, dark brown lacquer around a wire frame, while the flared bases are wood blocks covered in brown lacquer.
