DESCRIPTION: A lovely ivory study of a Chinese maiden with carefully coiffed hair and folded hands held close to her face as she delights in the bird on her shoulder. She also wears a bird ornament in her hair, and her long robes flow to her feet, decorated with ribbons. Very good condition with no damage or restorations; C. 1900. For size comparisons, we’ve included a photo of another recent ivory listing, Stock #IVR96. DIMENSIONS: Height of ivory without stand is 8 ¾” (22.2 cm).

DESCRIPTION: An exceptional and very tall Chinese cricket box (or cage) with finely molded gourd body, ivory rims, and an intricately carved tortoise shell cap. This outstanding box has virtually invisible seams, a complex design, and crisply molded impressions covering the body. The design includes two cartouches displaying various precious objects. DESCRIPTION: A Chinese ivory carving of two lovely maidens, one holding a musical instrument protected in a cloth bag, the other leaning on a rock wall with a bird ornament in her hair. Very good condition, no repairs or losses. The age is seen from the darker back side which has had less light exposure; dating from latter Qing Dynasty, 1890 - 1910. DIMENSIONS: 8” high including rectangular stand; 6 ¾” high without stand. Stand is 5” long (12.7 cm).

DESCRIPTION: A well carved ivory snuff bottle with raised figures on each side and a green jade stopper. One side has a figure in flowing robes carrying a lantern and the other a Chinese warrior with sword and battle armor. The neck is decorated in a stylized leaf design while the sides are covered in carved diagonal squares. Excellent condition and dating from the Qing Dynasty. DIMENSIONS: 2 ¾” high (7 cm).
