DESCRIPTION: A decorative and brightly painted Chinese wooden bucket originally used to hold rice in the household. Dating from the 1920’s, this bucket is sometimes called a “pumpkin bucket” due to its distinctive raised and brightly colored exterior panels. It has been crafted like a barrel with twisted wire at the upper rim and foot which secure the shaped strips together. DESCRIPTION: From a Florida estate comes this colorful and skillfully painted Tibetan window frame with four panel-shutters and old iron clasp hardware. The shutters are deftly painted with lively hunting scenes of tigers, deer and hunters in the field. The frame surrounding the panels is painted in a border of floral sprays. The window frame itself is probably several hundred years old, while the shutters seem to be later replacements, probably 20th century. ... Click for details

DESCRIPTION: A captivating pair of lacquered figural candle pricks, each in the form of a smiling attendant with hand on hip, wearing a banded hat and holding aloft a candle dish. The figures themselves are hand crafted of solid, dark brown lacquer around a wire frame, while the flared bases are wood blocks covered in brown lacquer.
