DESCRIPTION: A blue and white Chinese porcelain storage jar with village scene dating from the Ming Dynasty, 16th C. The age is quite evident from the rust spots (which take several hundred years to form), the dark underglaze Su-ma-li blue pigment (an imported pigment used during the Yuan and Ming dynasties with a high concentration of iron) and the sand adhering to the base rim. DESCRIPTION: An early Chinese blue and white porcelain snuff bottle with round body, squared shoulder and wasted neck. Finely executed and painted in rich under-glazed cobalt blue with an imperial five-clawed dragon wrapping around the bottle chasing the flaming pearl. A blue Kangxi (K’ang-H’si) mark is on the bottom and it is of the period (1662 – 1722).

DESCRIPTION: A fine Han Dynasty Cocoon Jar (206 BC-220 AD) distinguished by its cold-painted colors of red, white and pink on a dark clay body. The distinctively plump, ovoid form of this jar, imitating the shape of a silkworm cocoon, has a good amount of the original paint remaining on the body.
